I am Hannah Pickard, a Seattle-based multimedia artist, photographer, and art teacher living on the Eastside. My work explores the emotional connection between people and characters, and the ways stories can shape identity, comfort, and self-expression.
Inspired by animation, fantasy, childhood nostalgia, and imagined worlds, I create expressive figures and dreamlike environments that invite viewers to escape the ordinary and reconnect with curiosity and wonder. Through painting, photography, and mixed media, I explore how fictional characters can become companions, reflections of ourselves, and sources of transformation.
My background in photography, public art, and education continually influences my artistic practice and my search for new stories to tell. I hope my work creates spaces where viewers—especially those who have ever felt different, sensitive, or out of place—can feel seen, understood, and free to imagine.
